New Volunteer Opportunity:  Math Mentors at Pearce Middle School

 
Are you looking for a meaningful way to become involved with Pearce Middle School?  Become a 7th grade Math Mentor!
 
Math Mentors help a small group of 7th graders solve math problems in the classroom on Mondays for 45 minutes.   Seventh grade math is fun, and you can do it!  Math topics covered during the year include:
  • graphs and tables
  • integers (positive and negative numbers and zero)
  • percentages, fractions, and decimals
  • ratios, rates, and percents
  • calculation of length, volume and area
Volunteers will receive advance notice of math problems and the answers so that they can confidently engage the students in group problem-solving.  
 

Start Date:   February 8th
End Date:     End of April
 

Math Mentors are needed on Mondays at Pearce at

 any of the following times:
  • 8:50 - 9:35 a.m.
  • 10:20 - 11:05 a.m.
  • 2:10 - 2:55 p.m.
