Since 1983, literally millions of dollars in volunteer hours, materials, corporate resources and funding have been provided to Austin ISD schools. Austin Partners in Education helps businesses and individuals find the best use for their time, skills, and resources in addressing student achievement.
After understanding the specific demographics, skills, and target areas of company, APIE coordinators help sculpt a package of opportunities, including participation in mentoring and tutoring programs, event days, speaker series, internships, and projects that use the specific talents of your organization.
It is important to recognize our donors, both to show the overwhelming community support for public schools, and to let others know how they can participate. APIE tracks all donations to AISD and uses the compiled data to recognize levels of sponsorship and publicize achievements.
A company plan might include adopting a vertical chain of schools to supply volunteers to literacy programs in elementary school, science and algebra in middle school, and college application assistance in high school. People who cannot commit to a long-term weekly relationship can pair up to staff a study group or participate in school beautification or technology work days. People with a specific applicable skill may choose to participate in a related project. A group with with architecture skills, for example, may choose to design an outdoor performance area. APIE can help your company or organization shape its approach to education support in a way that fits its pool of skills and interests.
