Internships and Work-Study Positions

APIE’s goal is to ensure the internship experience is educational and rewarding for its interns.

Internship positions at Austin Partners in Education are unpaid and generally last for one semester with the option to renew for a second semester.

(Paid work-study positions may also be available. If you are a work-study student, please notify us in the designated section on your application.)

Ideally, our interns will leave the organization with valuable experience in a fast-paced nonprofit environment that will both diversify them in the job market and inspire them to remain involved in public school systems.

APIE can be flexible with most internship positions and schedules.

Review the requirements for each position (follow links at right) and apply for the position that best matches your interests by completing and submitting the application form below. 

 Requirements: 

  • 10 - 15 hours or more to work Mon - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment 

  • Multi-tasking skills while contributing as part of a team on deadline

  • Interest in helping public school students succeed academically

  • Professional appearance - business casual

  • Access to reliable private transportation for tutoring internships.
