Salary: Unpaid if internship, $13/hr. for work-study
Work Days/Times: M-F, between 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Job Description:
Great for your resume! Assist coordinators of a high school program that helps students prepare for college entrance exams. This position will allow you to work with program staff, community volunteers, and high school faculty to implement academic services at 12 high schools in AISD. Gain valuable experience in a fast-paced non-profit environment while making a difference in students' lives!
Responsibilities:

Assist program coordinators with creating, editing, and formatting curriculum (math, reading, and writing) designed to prepare high school seniors for college placement exams.

Assist with data entry in organization’s database
-
Assist running math, reading and writing workshops at various high schools throughout Austin
-
Assist in advising students regarding college readiness standards at various high schools throughout Austin
-
Assist with volunteer recruitment by attending recruitment events, contacting local organization leaders, and previous volunteers
-
Contact restaurants and businesses for donation requests
-
Contact parents and students to inform them of tutoring services available at their school
-
Research various topics regarding high school students, remedial classes, college placement exams, etc.

Administrative tasks, as needed
Qualifications:
-
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher)

Ability to multi-task, and work both independently and as a member of a team to meet goals and deadlines
-
Comfortable working with minimal supervision
-
Good organizational skills & flexibility a must
-
Strong interest in education and working with high school students
-
Good math (pre-algebra/algebra), reading and writing skills a plus
-
Strong communication skills
-
Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation

Fluent in Spanish a plus
