Austin Partners in Education (APIE) is excited to announce that the Applied Materials Foundation has approved a $45,000 grant to support Reading Classroom Coaching at Pecan Springs Elementary and our Step-Up deep intervention program. APIE will help at least 60 students develop a love for, and comprehension of, reading. Step-Up will provide frequent, personalized assistance for middle school students struggling to master concepts in math or reading.

With massive budget cuts in Austin ISD, we need volunteers more than ever. Caring adults in the classrooms help teachers and students by providing the individual attention students need to be successful.
