Austin ISD Teacher of the Year
Each school in Austin ISD was given the opportunity to select the Teacher of the Year for their campus. Schools were asked to send the teacher's name, position and a digital photo to Sarah Coronado by Friday, February 5.
After being selected by their school, each Teacher of the Year was invited to complete an application to be considered for the Austin ISD Teacher of the Year. This online application was due on Friday, February 18.
District Awards
This year, the following categories have been included as District Awards. These nominations were submitted by school employees and members of the community through Friday, February 26. Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will select semi-finalists, finalists and winners who will be recognized at the Salute Awards.
- Principal of the Year
- Classified Staff of the Year
- PTA of the Year
- PIE Coordinator of the Year
Campus-Based Awards
This year, each school will again be able to choose their own recipients for Campus-Based Awards. These recipients will be given a Salute 2010 certificate for their category and recognized in the printed Salute program. School employees and community members were given the opportunity to submit their recipients through Friday, February 26.

- Volunteer of the Year
- Classroom Coach/Tutor of the Year
- Volunteer Group of the Year
Because these awards do not need to be reviewed by a panel of judges, we are still accepting submissions at this time.

All awards may be completed through this link at the same time or you may return to this link to complete additional nominations at a later date. All submissions must be completed through the online form and will not be accepted by e-mail or phone. It is possible that submissions sent after the original deadline may be too late to be included in the printed Salute program, but all recipients will receive a Salute 2010 certificate delivered to their school.
