Volunteers are the heart of what we do at APIE! You and/or your employees or group of volunteers can be a part of a child's life in so many meaningful ways.
Some great ways to volunteer are:
Mentoring - Spend a lunch hour once a week with a student who needs an adult friend to listen. Research has shown that mentor programs are some of the most effective and dramatic long-term programs for young people.
Tutoring - After subject specific training, tutors meet regularly students to coach them in subject areas.
Technology - Are you skilled with computer hardware and/or software? Volunteer as a technical resource for a specific school, volunteer in after school computer literacy programs, or participate in Technology Project Days. There are many opportunities to help and most do not require a computer professional.
Beautification - Like to work with your hands, paint, or garden? Join our groups of volunteers who plant, weed, paint, and otherwise beautify our AISD campuses. This is usually a Saturday morning volunteer opportunity in conjunction with the school community.
Goods & Services - Short on time, but still want to positively affect the children of AISD? We can find the most efficient use for what you would like to offer. Computer hardware and software, books, furniture, landscaping materials, and school supplies are just a few of the goods that Partners have contributed to our schools.
Monetary Donations - Donations are always welcome and your financial assistance goes straight to the heart of the highest needs in AISD. APIE is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit and your monetary donations are completely tax deductible.
